Collecting new socks for Hannah’s Socks

A 4 year-old girl who saw a homeless man with no socks at a shelter and offered to give him hers started Hanna’s Socks. Hannah’s family went out the next day and bought socks for the shelter. This gesture turned into a nonprofit organization that now provides socks to dozens of shelters in Ohio. The organization wanted to expand into more areas in northwest Ohio and was looking for volunteers. Trinity’s youth decided this was the perfect project for their outreach and they are organizing and promoting the collection drive. New socks for women and children can be brought to Trinity Episcopal Church, 128 West Hardin Street during church office hours, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Our youth will deliver the socks to Hope House and Open Arms Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services.

Making a video of Trinity Church

Our technologically talented youth are creating a video of Trinity Episcopal Church. They are choosing the features to highlight and writing a script explaining their significance. Our parish is eagerly awaiting the result.

Easter Egg Hunt

The younger children really scramble to find the eggs hidden in the church by the middle school and high school youth.

Planting Flowers

On Rogation Sunday, the youth help make Trinity’s grounds beautiful by planting flowers in the church yard and in the flower boxes at various entrances to the church.

Delivering Goody Bags

The children help prepare and deliver goody bags to the students at the University of Findlay on the Sunday before exams.

Las Posadas

Our youth reenact Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem, then celebrate with a taco dinner and the traditional pinata.

Diocesan Youth Activities

Trinity’s junior high and high school students participate in various diocesan youth activities.

Souper Bowl Sunday

Trinity’s church school students participated in a world mission to alleviate hunger by holding Souper Bowl Sunday. They asked each parishioner to bring one or more cans of soup to church on Super Bowl Sunday. The young people gathered and packed the soup and many other nonperishable foods for donation to the Lutheran Social Services Food Pantry.

Heifer Project

During Lent the youth raised funds for the Heifer Project. They decorated jars for donations, gathered and counted the money and selected the animals. Trinity church school students purchased 1 goat, 2 sheep, 2 hives of honeybees and 2 starter flocks of poultry with the money they raised.
